Joel, South Jersey is sharing that weather, reporting 12.5 F and NW 35 to 45 knot winds, gusting to over 55. The ocean swells are 7 to 11 ft. Delaware Bay swells are 3 to 6 ft. Tides expected to be 2 feet lower than normal due to high winds.
We got only 2 inches of snow since yesterday, but the wind has blown it into bare spots next to foot deep drifts. The snow is blowing across the lawn like a white river, similar to the way sand blows down the beach when the winds are over 20 knots. The lake nearby was blue water last week and is frozen and covered in white today. I'm staying indoors, reading my John Kretschmer book, 'Sailing A Serious Ocean". So I guess we don't have to move around; if we don't like the weather, we just wait a day or two.
