I broke mine about 8 years ago. South Shore had the part in stock. My boom has a hexagon shape to it. I realize not all booms are the same. There were a variety of masts/booms used over the years. I looked at it and found that the black metal part that goes in the goose neck was broken into pieces and the broken part of the "ring" was still in the goose neck with the bolt intact....I can only assume that it somehow froze and snapped? We have had the same cold spell as the rest of the country, (single digits, etc.); and some windy nights, but I have no idea how a one inch wide and half inch thick piece of metal just "broke"; nonetheless, can this be repaired? welded? or should I look for a new one?
