Greg, I made up a couple of pieces of aluminium (carpet edge?) that worked well for a couple of seasons, but now allows slides to come out under pressure and not go back in without unscrewing the whole thing. I'm going to either add stiffening to stop the center bowing out, or tap another fastener in the middle of each (or potentially go with a Tides track system). Just make sure that a) the slides will go down over the gate top and b) it's stiff enough to hold them in place during flaking by an enthusiastic crew...
