One of my crew 'wrenched' the inside handle from my Lewmar low profile hatch.

The handle, which has no outside part, looks like it was 'glued' on to
the acrylic which has a non-circular shape slightly recessed into the acrylic,
presumably to accept the corresponding handle base. The turning
part of the handle is held to the base with a screw but the entire assembly is
(now was) only held to the acrylic with the 'glue'.

There is hardened 'glue' residue within the acrylic 'recess' as well as some
still remaining on the handle base. Otherwise, the acrylic and the handle
appear to be in good shape.

With the proper 'glue' and possible cleanup of the old 'glue', it looks like I
could put it back as good as new.

My questions are how to clean up the current hardened 'glue', if necessary, and
what 'glue' should I use to hold it back in place?

My educated guess is that the original 'glue' was some kind of super stuff that
really sticks/becomes part of the acrylic since this is the first
handle that has come off in almost 15 years of use--maybe something like that
used to replace the C&C windows/ports that
has been discussed extensively on the list.
