I've had my 1981 Landfall 38 since 1997. I've put a lot of money into
everything from an engine rebuild to all new running gear, a new propane stove,
Espar heater, sails etc. batteries Etc.

Meantime I've installed new electronics on many of the Beneteaus sold into Nova
Scotia, worked on a whack of other boats of all types, makes, sizes and
conditions, and have never felt that the money I spent on Indigo was going to a
poor place or should be invested in a newer boat.

I think the reason is that my 33 year old boat is every bit as seaworthy as any
of the others I've been on, works and sails as well as any, satisfies my
aesthetic needs and, perhaps most important from my point of view, has soul
that most of the new boats don't have.

Next boat will be a 25' wood power boat with a comfortable chair and a BBQ on
the stern deck.
