Kevin, I have a RAM mount on the binnacle guard with an IPad holder that fits around the waterproof case. A normal USB port puts out 2.1 amps. An IPad needs 2.5 amps. Fred Street found me a 2.5 amp socket on EBay in Australia. If you go wth a 2.1 amp socket your screen will go dead at the worst possible time. Luckily, for me the Ipad is a bckup to the plotter that I mainly use while racing.
