Not THAT kind - the kind that had tubes and was a transceiver. They transmitted 
AM between 2 and 3 MHz. I think they were technically illegal when we did that 
trip, but the USCG still monitored 2182 KHz. I think even to this day marine 
SSB sets have an AM equivalent mode for 2182 even though the AM sets that would 
need this to communicate are decades gone.
Anyone remember the telephone pole insulators in the backstay for the AM sets?
