OK, here's my pedantic hat on again...StarBoard is a UV-stabilized
High-Density Polyethylene, UHMW is a non-stabilized Ultra High Molecular
Weight Polyethylene. If you are going to use UHMW for an exterior use, use
black if possible, it will deteriorate more slowly compared to the natural.
I'm sure there are plastics shops around your area that carry StarBoard but
in desperation you can get it at Worst Marine.
Personally, I would use StarBoard for outside if you were going to
fabricate it yourself.
That being said, I would be surprised if the Garhauer cam cleats had
different hole spacing than Ronstan or Harken, it might be easiest to try
one of the Harken lifts before going to the trouble of making your own.
