Edd — the new Raymarine EVO series would be my hands-down favorite. And since you’ve already got the drive in place, much of the work would be done.
Which Octopus drive model have you got? That will determine the maximum current for the Raymarine ACU (course computer). For your design displacement of 16,000 lbs and assuming an Octopus 1212 Series linear drive, you’re probably going to want the EV-200 Sail system with the ACU-200 course computer and the p70 control head. There’s a chance you might need the more powerful ACU-400, but under most circumstances the ACU-200 should be fine. As far as installation goes, you’ll have to install the ACU-200 (course computer) and the EV-1 (sensor core — replaces the old fluxgate compass), and put the p70 control head where you want it (normally at the helm); the SeaTalkNG cabling (more or less equivalent to NMEA2000) comes with the kit. That’ll connect all the pieces of the system except the drive, for which you’ll need to either use existing or run new; and power to the ACU (same). No rudder reference transducer is needed. I talked to my vendor today, and they’ve got stock, if you’re interested. Email me off-list for pricing.
