A few years back a competitor crossed the finish line of the 360 nm Marblehead to Halifax Ocean Race, dropped his sails and radioed the club for a tow for the last few miles to the club. He said he was out of fuel and only had his racing sails on board. We apologized and said the club tender was busy standing by.
