I'm thinking about adding an access hatch (perhaps 12" X 24") to the cockpit floor just aft the bridgedeck. Various parts of the engine (A4 with V-drive) are nearly inaccessible.
I really hate cutting or drilling holes in my boat and this would be a big one. But, I don't think there would be any structural implications cutting a hole and putting a hatch there. Any experiences, opinions, or warnings? I've read one online comment about a Bomar access hatch not being watertight. Beckson makes them in a couple of sizes and T H Marine claims their "Sure Seal" hatches are watertight. As always, thanks in advance, Bob M Ox 33-1 Jax, FL
