I hope you have a good time in Mexico this winter.

As for the water tank valves-  in the cabinet in the forward head I have a
set of 2 valves (one to the existing topsides vent and one internal) for
each of the bow and starboard water tanks. In the right hand cup board in
the aft head I have the valves for the port tank.
For each valve set you open one and close the other to determine which way
you vent.
Venting internally is great for offshore sailing and I would do it all the
time except when you fill the tanks it is nice for the overflow to go over
the side and not into the bilge. We have a completely dry boat (other than
the small amount of rainwater that comes down the mast) and I like to keep
it that way.

As for the relay it is a standard Yanmar wiring problem. This thread
describes the problem well.

In my case the relay is identical to the relay for the stop button.
