I hope this ends the "if you wanted *that feature* you should buy a
Tartan" design work!

When I talked to them at shows years ago they seemed conflicted about
where C&C fit in with the Tartan line.

Well I have to say that from my experience the now former C&C owners did
a nice job building and designing the 99 and 115. I have sailed a lot
on both and they are very nice boats! I hope the new line reflects the
inspiration that was there when the 99 initially launched.

I know the Randy Borges well and he is a talented guy. He race-prepped
my Shields and J/80, making them pretty embarrassing to sail, as
everyone then knew it was me who made the boats go slow.

He will do a good job with the C&C brand. I'm excited to see what they
come up with.

Fascinating. Probably for the better. C&C had a plant in Rhode Island
under the original Canadian company. My boat was built there. These
are the builders of Alerion. I wonder if this is Tillerston Pearson who
made the J boats and how C&C will fit in. Sounds encouraging though as
Fairport was a dead end for C&C. Jerry.
