On our recent sailing trip two of the plastic/nylon slugs broke and need to be replaced. I would appreciate comments from others on the possibility of doing this ones self.
The slugs are wrapped through their slots with a piece of webbing material which is stitched to the sail and is also melted or 'welded' to itself to attach slug to sail luff. The sail is older but still has good shape (kevlar). I am reluctant to keep spending money on an old sail but it is worth repairing if there is a good DIY solution for a non-sailmaker. I have watched some Youtube video on this but would appreciate comments from the list group.
