If it's an Alan Gurney design, it will sail we'll. I had a 27 O'Day by him. Fairly nice boat.
Biggest downside of the 27 was the lower shrouds were attached to a plate under the deck. Once the bedding broke loose the resulting leak rotted the balsa between the deck and plate. Whenever I sailed in moderate to heavy breeze, there were "bubbles" on the deck where the plates were pulled upward. That's why I am a freak about how the loads from the shrouds are carried to the structure if the boat. I want to see a direct load path to the hull. Dennis C.
