Kelly, I have to agree with Gary Nylander. The tool of choice is an impact screwdriver, you preload the spring with a turn and then give it a sharp rap with a hammer. PB blaster helps too but the real issue is dissimilar metals. There is a product on the market to use that will stop the corrosion next time but the name of it escapes me. An impact screwdriver is part of the tool arsenal on our boat, and they are inexpensive. Good Luck Wish I was afloat!
