If it is like the 35-1, it will drain to the bilge.  I put some plastic grid in 
the bottom to help that process.

When I weigh anchor, I often lay the rode out on deck to drain a bit.  
Depending on circumstances, I may leave it on deck for a while before feeding 
it down the hawse.
