Peter, I did a complete refit of the electrical system on my boat and I second what Fred suggested. I chose similar items and have nothing but great things to say about the Blue Sea panels and systems.
I used these for my main panels, 120 VAC and 12 VDC. I didn't go with meters because I already have a battery management monitor with that info. I used this item for my battery management: Dual Bank If you are pressed for space, the new "360" line of panels are the ticket. They were not quite on the market when I started my project but I would have probably gone with them. Spendy though...
