If anyone has advice on how to remove the flywheel (Yanmar 2qm15 engine
currently sitting in the salon where it definitely does not belong), it
would be gratefully received. The manual says the five bolts are torqued to
290 foot lbs, and of course the flywheel turns. I will next try an
extension pipe on my breaker bar, and work from the proper side so the nut
is resisting turning the engine, but even if I get the 5 bolts off, the
Yanmar manual says to use special tool on the 2QM15 to force the flywheel
off the shaft its on. I am trying to get to the rear oil seal and replace
it (leaks) before putting humpty dumpty together again (and the local
mechanics are too busy to return calls)...never imagined I would get to
know my boat this well.....

Thanks for any advice,
Who knows, I might go sailing yet this year....
