As a Michigan Tech Alumni (BSME, 1977), I see that Houghton had better than 220 inches of snow this season. That is about the 100 year average and what we saw for the years I lived in Houghton (72-73 and 74-77). Not a whole lot of years since have they made the average. Down here, we didn't see much in December but once it started, we got a full season of snow in January, February and March. The 9+ inches of rain that we got in April certainly didn't hurt. Any water in the lake is good water.
