Joel,

My answer is "it depends" - where I am leaving the boat.

I am on a mooring, in a quiet harbor, with nighttime guards. So in my "home"
port the only thing I lock is the shallow tray-locker in the cockpit where
I keep those horribly expensive spinnaker snatch blocks and my winch
handles.

I never lock the anchor locker (removed the hasp as it kept getting in the
way)

I might lock the lazarette and companionway if I am staying in a busy marina
/ anchorage and leaving the boat for more than a couple of hours - but not
always

My thoughts are really that the thieves are welcome to my stuff (it's
insured) but I do not want the hassle of repairing the companionway /
lazarette etc if they force entry.

I lock the cabin and lazarette.

Does anyone lock the anchor locker?
