I think you may be correct, she is an old boat, 1974 vintage.I think from Long Island maybe or New York. Sag Harbour NY was on the stern when I found her in Maine

So the owner who got the number assigned lived in the eastern 2/3 of the US, but not in the lake Huron area, nor near Chesapeake Bay. Out of curiosity I may call US Sailing tomorrow and see if there is a way to look up the boat or owner information on a sail number. I already know the past owners if Imzadi, but it might be interesting to talk to the owner of Frenzy II of the Whitby Yacht Club in Canada (one of the boats that was in the 1978 Labatt's race along with mine; her sail number is still in the CYA registry) to see if he has any recollections about that race. Looking at the map of regional groups that issue sail numbers causes me to wonder just how many sail numbers get issued for Idaho and western Montana. Curious minds want to know. Judging from all the gear and sails that came with Alianna I would say someone had outfitted her pretty well for racing before I got her.
