Edd,
Sometimes bronze wool and a Joy dish detergent in warm water works wonders on
wood. It pulls out the dirt and leaves the wood smooth. Be very careful sanding
your floor. The top veneer is very, very thin.

Edd,
Starbrite brand sells teak cleaner and seperate brightener. Skip the cleaner
since you have sanded and go for brightener. It is basically oxalic acid, but
if you can't that buy the Starbright. Pretty sure Walmart carries.

Joel,

Excuse my ignorance, but I can't seem to locate anything specifically named
"Wood Bleach" at Home Depot. Will any outdoor bleach work?

Is there a particular brand/item you recommend?

Here's a shot of the floor board sanded down (looks WAY better than it did, but
now I want perfection.) -- https://dl.dropbox.com/u/15162917/floor.jpg

Wood bleach. Use hot water. You only need a couple cups of water. Rinse and
repeat. Use a scotch pad to rub it in.

Listers,

We've started to do some work on the flooring inside my C&C 37+ (If you recall
from a previous post, we were seeing dark areas on the flooring, which listers
have identified as moisture buildup between the poly coating and the actual
wood under).

My wife has volunteered to try to take on the project and was more than excited
when I bought her her very own orbital sander. (Sorry guys, she's taken.)

So, we took up a small section and she sanded away the poly coating and have
dried things out. And, although MUCH better than it looked originally, we're
still seeing some discoloration in both the teak and holly.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to restore it to its original look? We
see the teak/holly part is just a thin surface so we know we can't sand too
much.

O n a side note -- Stu -- if there's anything we can do to make this rough time
easier for you and your wife, please ask. The service you provide us here has
proven to be valuable beyond all expectations.

All the best,

Edd
