Jim: RS422 is for NMEA 0183. You could probably use a NMEA 0183 to NMEA 2000 adapter such as this one:
http://www.milltechmarine.com/customer_center/AMEC_NK-80_Manual.pdf. I suggest talking to a tech at ICOM. Alan, It says the output to chartplotters is RS-422, is that the carrier for NMEA0183? Otherwise, I like the dual band receiver and built in spltter. Unfortunately, I need NMEA2000 to talk to my chartplotter so I don't think it would work for my setup.
