Our yard just has a per square foot charge for 'on the hard' storage and a
fixed fee for the 'season' in the water. You go in and out when you are ready
and so are they. I have had in the water storage in the winter (once with mast
up and twice under a roof with mast down). Go in sometime in mid to late April
and out in November. The racing season starts the first week of May and ends up
in late October. We used to have to pull the mast for storage on the hard, but
about five years ago, they dropped that. This year it came out in late November
and was shrink wrapped - we will take the cover off in April, do the bottom and
touch up the Poly Glow and launch when they get the three boats that are in our
way done. Gary Nylander30-1 Maryland----- Original Message -----From: Walt

Re: Stus-List STORAGE CONTRACTS Id have to read my actual contract to
know how our yard handles this. But, in practice, it doesnt seem to
matter much. Ive always had a winter storage contract
and the yard has always treated it as meaning from the time you haul
out to the time you launch. Ive launched and hauled at many
different times over the years (in as late as June; out as early as Labor Day)
but have never been asked to pay anything extra. I do have to believe that
theyd charge me if I left the boat in the yard all summer, or maybe if
I wanted to launch in May and haul out in June.

Subject: Stus-List STORAGE CONTRACTS

Can anyone explain what is the norm for the winter time period of a storage
contract?
Does it depend solely on the facility that is offering the contract?

What period would you say this statement covers: Fall of 2012 through Spring
2013

My calendars state that Fall starts Sept 21 or 22 every year and Spring ends
June 21 or 22 every year.

Is there a different Fall and Spring time for the Boating World?

One facility with the statement above is telling me it is November through
April (a 6 month period.)
and Summer is the 6 months of May through October.
