Dave,

As you know I am refinishing mine.  The whole thing is in my garage and
breakfast room.  It is screwed down.  Most of the screws came out.  A used
a dremel to grind the head off of 3 or 4.  The sole runs under the settee
but does not run under the seat if that's your concern.  There are almost
no square edges on the major pieces - everything is a bevel or an angle.
Unless you have serious rot or delamination you might want to do a
re-finish.  Take a look at the before/after shots on
facebook.com/theoffice35 to see the piece that was under my settee before,
during and almost after.  The West epoxy with  clear 207 hardener does a
credible job of filling in chips and dings.
