Hi Sam,
The Open 6.5 is tempting. I'd love to play with one of those, but they're too
small, and still reguire deep water for the bulb keel. I'm not really trying to
solve this problem, it's a dream. The Figaro II is more attractive, and more
expensive. Still deep, but better for offshore. A dream that is so far out of
reach, it stays a dream.

A folding trimaran is faster and can be run onto a beach and trailered home for
winter storage. Not much interior, but works for me, and may someday a reality.
I think if I had one of those, she'd stay at the house most of the year and get
launched for two week cruises, Spring and Fall, and maybe go south during the
winter. I'd save $5000 a year on slip fees and haulout charges, alone. Hard to
admit, but I've spent about $5K per year for slip fees times ten years; more
than I spent to buy my boat. Wouldn't do it any differently, just saying.

Making fast passages is one dream. Another dream I consider is an old daysailor
I saw at Mystic Seaport called Galena or Fox. It is 18ft long, by 5 ft deep
with gaff rigged main, three jibs, sprit, and topsail. A real salty looking
daysailor that looks like a dream. I have pictures for anyone interested.
