I have the wind instrument only and I bought it with the wired display rather than the solar display because my bimini is up all summer. After 1 season, no problems at all. I did not go wireless for the triducer. I ran a NMEA 200 triducer into my plotter instead, in part because I bought it before I decided to do the wind instrument. They made 2 different wind instruments - one for boats up to 35 feet, one for larger boats. The only difference is the display. To get true wind you need to buy the interface box which is NMEA 183 and is another $420. FWIW, MaineSail on Sailnet and Cruiser's Forum would never use the Ray wireless instruments.
