OK, Never been to Maine, but sounds like there are some hurricane holes up 
there? Which would you recommend?

So would Maine. And a lot easier to get to from New London. I've run up there a 
couple of times to get away from hurricanes. That crew could have been in some 
pub, drinking excellent beer, and regaling the locals with great sea stories. 
Unfortunately, the captain was arrogant enough to believe he could beat the 
sea. I'm firmly convinced that I've been able to log many miles at sea simply 
because it scares me. It should be approached with utmost humility. That was 
assured not the case here.
