Just finishing our first summer on Alera. She is an absolute joy in
every way. We don't race so I will leave that to others, though I
will say that the fin keel should serve you well. We have the wing
keel and it has been great for cruising in the pacific northwest.
Does the boat you are looking a have the full fin or the bulb end?
We upgraded from a 35 Mk 1. So the creature comforts like pressurized
hot and cold running water, the shower and, most of all, the awesome
aft cabin changed our annual summer cruise, all for the
better. After three weeks out we liked her even better than before
to took off.
