So, if the shaft does not get locked in a position with the folded blades vertically aligned (the proper orientation) it's possible for the lower blade to "droop" and create some drag in low hull speed conditions. Worst case would have the shaft locked with the blades aligned horizontally. However, the drag problem is minimized or eliminated at higher speeds (3 knots, 4 knots?), regardless of prop orientation.
I liked the rubberband solution.
