Subject: Stus-List Isaac recap

Isaac dropped around 35 inches of rain on Mandeville. Max winds were around 40
knots steady with gusts to near 60. The water level gauge at Mandeville Harbor
set a new record, 8.25 feet vs the old 7.60 feet set in 1985. Even Katrina
wasn't that high. That means if you'd been standing on my pier, you'd have
been in about 5 feet of water eyeball to Touche's boot stripe. Water level is
still around 6 feet as I write this. I'll go over in a day of two to remove
storm lines and wash mud off pier. Report from my marina is that Touche' is
fine. Couple boats got piling burns because the owners didn't properly tie
them. Since the marina's transformers sit on grade and the breaker panels are
submerged at about 5 feet of surge, I suspect it will be a few weeks before
power is restored. Marinas aren't high on the priority list.
As for the house (in Baton Rouge), just a few hours without power and a
scattering of branches in the yard.
My Suburban is still in Pensacola from the transit back. Won't have a chance
to retrieve it until Sunday.
