Just remember that the clamp inside the pedestal holds both the throttle AND 
the transmission cables on two-control systems; and in the case of my boat, 
above the clamp the two cables go around either side of the steering shaft, so 
you have to pull the pedestal to get the cables out the bottom.  The bolt on 
the aft side of the pedestal threads into the center of the clamp.  See page 9

I've just been through this twice in the last couple of weeks, as I'm replacing 
the pedestal and both cables; the first time, after getting everything 
together, it turned out the transmission cable needed to be one foot longer, so 
I had to pull everything apart and redo it.  Hopefully this is the last time...
