One trick is to add various tints to the gelcoat paste, without hardener, till
it matches the boat. Get the color right for a large batch, by putting a dab on
the boat and wipe it off. Then you take a small amount to make your repair, add
the proper amount of hardener, apply. Label the rest and store for future
touchups. Some people are better at color matching than others. You need to be
either skilled or very determined, patient, and persevering. I found I could
get it close, but I can always see my repairs.

Gary: Even if someone tries it and it matches their boat perfectly, there is
an even chance that, although it may be close, it will not match your boat.
Best way I have found is to mix the gel and colours in a ziplock bag which
can be set beside the deck near the repair to check, and further colour
added and mixed in as appropriate. I'm not very good with messy stuff but
that sure helps.

I remember a post which had the "mix" for matching C&C gelcoat - obviously
the generic non faded version:

One cap gelcoat
6 drops brown, 3 yellow, and 2 black.

Haven't tried it, hope someone can, I have some touch up to do....
