I posted earlier about a 1 one ounce per running hour leak of transmission fluid by my kanazaki-hurth KBW-10 transmission (on a Yanmar 2QM15). Looks like the ONE area diesel &tranny mechanic (Haukie) is booked solid until Christmas....lots of 1980's boats in our area on Lake Superior, all getting older... So, encouraged by dockside advisors, I'm reluctantly considering removing it and replacing at least the three seals myself. Access is fairly good from the big lazarettes, I have advice to remove WITH the rear engine mounts attached (will weigh less than 30 lbs), use an inflatable something to support the little 140 lb yanmar aft end, and one of my dockside advisors will help with final alignment of the shaft on reassembly. Anyone know where to buy seals and/or other parts? Anyone done it ....with advice to offer? Nate "Sarah Jean" 1980 30-1 Siskiwit Bay Marina Lake Superior
