I'm not entirely sure what is planned but openstack is a framework intended for managing vm's on a large number of servers, typically one to several racks of servers. You can get it working on a single host for a lab/testing type environment but it's not really practical to do this in production. It's a large undertaking to get it working properly and would require quite a bit of hardware, what is CLUG up to?
