LCD TV can work as a monitor, provided it has the necessary plugs, like VGA. 
The resolution however will be very low in most cases, to the point where you 
may have difficulty using some applications.
The print should be fine, since it is mostly independent from the screen 
display, unless you are doing print screen, in witch case it will be very low 
resolution, just like the screen.
DVI or VGA will both work, but the TV/Monitor has to have at least on of them 
too.

In a nutshell, TV sets, even if they have the necessary plugs make for some 
very poor viewing when in comes to connecting them to a computer, unless you 
want to use the configuration for media viewing, where both the application and 
the media are designed to work at the TV resolution, your results will be poor 
at best.
