Most ISPs are not terribly reliable, and they invest almost nothing in investigating email abnormalities. Only large scale, easily reproducible issues are ever investigated, regardless of what the first tier tech support and customer service reps say.
I have a second account registered to this list that belongs to a server that I control. This is so I can investigate issues, and having access to server logs is pretty much essential, otherwise all we can do is guess. My experience mirrors Sam's, which is to say I did not notice anything out the ordinary and I did not try to send any messages.
