Thanks again for organising the meeting last night, it was great to finally get out to one! I am hoping there is a way to continue the group, there seemed to be some solid interest in keeping it going.
For my part I am a relatively new user. I am taking some networking courses at Sait that involve lots of Linux and I have my family all moved on to Linux at home. I am also getting more Linux into work at every opportunity. The things that resonated with me last night were Mel's ideas about putting together some helpful material for new users. Also, networking with the working Linux communities and perhaps a talker or two per year - I think Stallman was mentioned! Most importantly the post meeting beer! So sorry I wasn't able to get to that. Basically I am interested in all things free and open source, exchanging ideas and learning new things. It would be a sad day if Calgary lost its LUG, I will bring $20 to the next meeting :) By the way, I checked out quite a few other LUG web pages later on and I can honestly say that the CLUG one is the best looking one I found.
