Tekbudda you are partially correct. If you do a search from the search bar you are only going to see 20 email. If you are trying to get rid of everything - from the left hand column select "All Mail" (you will see what ever you default number is set to - 50 100) then chose "All" in the section box - you will be offered to select all email. You click on this and then the delete trash can it will label all email "Trash" It will remain in trash for 30 days unless you explicit go to Trash and delete it. I does take a bit of time to see it all be gone - and yes if you request very soon after you may recover the deleted mail. You better have your "pin number" on hand before making such a request.
