Kali is a pretty complex OS (Debian with a whole lot of customised packages on top). Some of the utilities can be very stressful on the hardware, which does not play nice on constrained systems like the Pi (in addition to CPU/GPU load, Kali can be very demanding on your IO as well as general system throughput). I guess it would really depend on what you were trying to do. If it were me, I would put Kali into a VM or directly on x86 hardware to get familiar with it. I would only use the Pi for the tasks that it is suited for (low throughput data/metadata collection and forwarding, ingress/egress point for remote access are two such things that come to mind). While the Pi is a very cool piece of gear, please be aware that it is an extremely limited hardware platform. If I remember I will bring my quad core Exynos (ARM A9) dev board (which is painfully slow for someone used to modern x86). > Alex > On Aug 16, 2013 7:49 AM, "Mel Walters" <melwalt...@telus.net> wrote: > >> First Wed of the month: Sept 4, 2013 CLUG General Meeting? >> >> So, are we on for a meeting, up for some topics? >> >> Mel >> >> >> _______________________________________________ >> clug-talk mailing list >> clug-talk@clug.ca >> http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-talk_clug.ca >> Mailing List Guidelines (http://clug.ca/ml_guidelines.php) >> **Please remove these lines when replying >> > > _______________________________________________ > clug-talk mailing list > clug-talk@clug.ca > http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-talk_clug.ca > Mailing List Guidelines (http://clug.ca/ml_guidelines.php) > **Please remove these lines when replying >
