Just so you don't miss/overlook it, this looks like it is using the
802.11s mesh extension using a softmac capable wifi card. There are
several approaches to the on-air mesh system/protocol, and they are not
compatible with each other.

The one used in the OLPC is 802.11s (I believe), Freifunk uses OLSRD and
MeshPotato uses BATMAN (and ROBIN ;-).

I have some 'spare' routers which are OpenWRT (and the like) capable, I
don't mind lending them out if I'll eventually get them back. I'll bring
to the next meeting.

I'll try to find a copy of the presentation I did... but that's so many
installs ago it's probably buried in a back-up somewhere at home.
