Hi:

On my oldest remaining email address, I receive recognizable spam most
weekends. Less than an hour ago, I received a message purportedly from UPS
saying that a package has been sent to me and will arrive in seven days. I
wasn't expecting anything. It had a ZIP file attached. Norton Antivirus was
on the message, and when I downloaded, it wouldn't let me see the file, only
save or cancel. Being a bit stupid, I saved it, but don't know where it
went. I trashed the message.

Turns out that the message was sent to variations of my email address and
UPS says the email has a virus, that they never send ZIP files.

Kubuntu had been trying to check my drives, so I turned it back on and it
checked my drives, then I emptied the trash in that email account and
cleared the list of downloads. I printed the document I've been working on,
and something else that would be a pain to lose.

Is there anything else I should do? Should I expect my 'puter to be useless
in seven days?

Ellen
