FYI it is the kernel that really matters.  Also Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid is in
beta already:
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/lucid/

It would be interesting to see how this version fares.

AMD had problems for years with their AM2 platform.  I suspect that this
will not be the case for Intel.
