Hi folks, I just joined the list from bright and sunny North Carolina, USA. :-) My fiance is visiting at the University of Calgary that has offered her a postdoctoral position and I'm looking to scope out the job situation for linux geeks in the Calgary area. We are both quite excited at the prospect of moving to Calgary and think it will be a great adventure. :-)
I'm a linux system administrator and programmer with 14 years experience managing a wide variety of linux installations, mostly Red Hat and CentOS based with recent forays into Ubuntu for desktop/laptop use. I've worked as the team lead responsible for deploying and managing the infrastructure services for a large research institute (DNS, SMTP, DHCP, NetApp storage, Oracle, VMWare, highly-available web services, etc.) and am currently the go-to guy for a university department that operates almost all of its own computing services, handing everything from servers to desktops. I also do web-based applications programming using Perl, PHP, Drupal, and CiviCRM, providing automation of system administration tasks, business tasks, and helping nonprofit organizations get a handle on their membership management and event organizing needs. I look forward to getting to know you all and hopefully meet you in the coming months. --[Lance] -- GPG Fingerprint: 409B A409 A38D 92BF 15D9 6EEE 9A82 F2AC 69AC 07B9 CACert.org Assurer _______________________________________________ clug-talk mailing list clug-talk@clug.ca http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-talk_clug.ca Mailing List Guidelines (http://clug.ca/ml_guidelines.php) **Please remove these lines when replying
