We are looking for Python/Django developers to develop and maintain our suite of web applications called Pursuits xRM, which includes CRM, Project Management, Document Management system, Idea Management and many other tools. Pursuits xRM has been crafted impeccably – the code is clean and well-documented. Our team is distributed and you will be working from home. We will consider candidates from anywhere in the world and require both full and part-time contractors. Part of the responsibilities of this position will involve maintenance of our test suite, implementation of new test cases using unittest, doctests, Django's Test Client, Javascript test cases (using Selenium and other tools) and bug fixes in the application. Responsibilities/Qualification: 1.Great knowledge of Python and Django, minimum of 3 years of experience in Python 2.Minimum of 2 years of experience with web development, strong XHTML, CSS and Javascript skills are also desired 3.Experience with test cases implementation 4.Experience with a Linux environment and sysadmin skills 5.Version control software, Git is a plus 6.SQL knowledge and databases, PostgreSQL is a plus 7.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 8.Understanding of good code practices and standards 9.Easy-going personality – you will actively participate in design discussions and code review 10.Ability to work in our timezone, MST (GMT -7) Below are a few details on our project and work environment: Web framework: Django Database: PostgreSQL Ubuntu Server, Apache and FastCGI SCM: Git We use Trac for our internal development Wiki and bug tracking – Trac is being slowly replaced by Pursuits, so you will be using Pursuits as an end-user very often too Code review process – all code is reviewed/discussed before being pushed to the master branch Test Suite for the Python code Javascript test suite is in progress for a large amount of Javascript code Pursuits is a web 2.0 application with many AJAX features Resumes received at [email protected] by January 31, 2010 will receive full consideration.
