haven't seen mention of this here yet, so....
Protospace (http://protospace.ca) is holding an open house next Tuesday,
November 3rd. The address is:
1012 MacLeod Trail SE
Timing is from 7:00 to approx 9:00. There will be presentations,
socialization, beverages, and some how-to type mentoring. Everyone is
welcomed.
Protospace is a group, like CLUG in some ways, where people can get
together to share the various projects they are working on, get some
help, or just enjoy a place away from everyday work and life. Members
cover a broad range of background from programmers and techies (there
are a number of CLUG members involved), to artists, photographers,
interior designers, and more. Some of the projects on the go include
setting up a robust network environment with the donated equipment,
various electronics projects with Audrino's and similar devices, setting
up a bait bike to be stolen (and later recovered), building a touch
table, and whatever else comes to mind.
Presentations in the past few months have had more of a science bend,
covering basic statistics, and scientific method.
