I'm actually far more concerned about the government disrespecting my privacy than Facebook. Considering the disastrous legislation that was introduced this spring, I think the privacy commissioner should be looking inward, rather than outward. It is easy enough to move away from Facebook, it is harder to move to another country to prevent the state from spying on me.
Regardless, convincing people that online privacy is important is similar in both circumstances. I just finished writing a series of articles that looks at the legislation being proposed in Canada and tries to convince people that it is bad. The second article looks at how to use free software to protect your privacy and avoid government censorship. Take a look and let me know what you think: http://jesse.kline.ca/tiny-138 http://jesse.kline.ca/tiny-139 Jesse On Thu, Jul 16, 2009 at 11:45 PM, Shawn <[email protected]> wrote: > http://www.priv.gc.ca/media/nr-c/2009/nr-c_090716_e.cfm > > Related to this issue, I have a question.
