Hi all,
I picked up a cheap NAS and although it claims Linux support it is forced to
having a VFAT partition (otherwise the NAS portion does not work).

Does anyone have a solution to preserving user/group permissions on a VFAT
drive? I know I can tar up the files, but I'd like to keep random file access.

I thought that there might be a fuse layer to store the permissions is a
seperate file, but can't find anything like that.

Any ideas?
Simon.

PS. Curlftpfs is a little optimistic.... ;-)
