Not every machine that I use do I get to choose the OS. WinSCP and Putty (which there is some integration between) help make life easier, especially since both can run off of a USB key without needing to be installed. I also use it to backup client computers (running windows) securely to a remote linux box, unattended. You know, the sort of things we are used to being able to do "out of the box". :) Also, I support people on Windows using scp etc. to securely transfer files. I sometimes use it instead of gftp. To be fair, I also regularly use Notepad++ with wine when editing vb, batch/wish, or powershell scripts. Wow, has this thread ever drifted OT. Sorry about that. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFIUtiwwRXgH3rKGfMRAhisAJ9gqBEouVB3L224qJEHL0MbPbKUzQCglnaW 7XQx1CHxsh1eFL74I4Fu+sU= =fnfN -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ clug-talk mailing list [email protected] http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-talk_clug.ca Mailing List Guidelines (http://clug.ca/ml_guidelines.php) **Please remove these lines when replying
